Our Goals & Objectives

  • To provide the people of East Nipissing with appropriate, caring, and satisfying nursing and support services.
  • To create a warm and home-like atmosphere, recognizing the individuality of the long-term care resident and respecting his/her privacy.
  • To work within the mandate of the Long Term Care Facilities Act and other pertinent legislation and recognize that residents requiring treatment or care that extends beyond our scope of practice or ability will be transferred to an appropriate placement.
  • To provide the residents with an environment which simultaneously provides maximum independence by assisting with physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
  • To support and enhance the acts of daily living and to assist the resident in attaining the maximum potential in all areas of functioning and to provide restoration and/or maintenance of optimum health of the residents.
  • To sensitize the admission and discharge procedure to the needs of the existing and prospective residents to ensure the appropriate utilization of the nursing home facilities.
  • To support our residents through various community and hospital support services to the extent that referring services determine that the Home does possess sufficient facilities and staff resources to provide care for acutely or critically ill residents.
  • To provide a comfortable and pleasing environment for residents, staff and visitors.
  • To provide opportunities for all appropriate individuals to participate in the identification and satisfaction of residents' needs. In this respect the multidisciplinary approach to the identification of needs and the delivery of care is practiced.
  • To provide opportunities for appropriate orientation and inservice education and development for staff and health teaching for residents, volunteers, family and the community.
  • To provide a protective and safe environment, for those residents who require supervision over activities of daily living, without restricting their personal freedom except as it may be necessary in the interest of safety.
  • To promote the psychological adjustments along with activities that can awaken new interests and new skills. This is done through courses, visits from the community and various therapies.
  • To provide active programs for community interaction/involvement and public relations, with ongoing focus on how we may better serve the community and vice versa.
  • To provide a program of information to keep our residents and staff informed of developments in the Home and in the community and keep the community and families advised of developments in the Home.
