    Another concern for families is how soon they can get a bed for their loved one. Being a small community, people know whether there are empty beds at the nursing home or not. But, it is not as simple as arriving at the door to get a bed like it was in the past. Anyone who wishes to move into a nursing home must go through a government service called a Placement Coordination Service. The North East Community Care Access Centre runs this service.
